Donald Finley Daugherty Donald Finley Daugherty, 55, a native of Mobile and resident of Atlanta, Ga., died of cancer Oct. 6, 2008, at his home. He was the son of Finley and Christine Brown Daugherty of McIntosh; and grandson of the late Lyman and Lessie Harris Daugherty and the late John Coley and Alliene Etheredge Brown. A graduate of Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Law School, he practiced law in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Tenn. and at Delta Air Lines, Inc. In 1980, he was an advance coordinator for the Howard Baker presidential campaign. He was a private pilot, voracious reader and loved golf and baseball. Daugherty was a board member of Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta, cochairman of the Dogwood Invitational Golf Tournament and cocaptain of the American team of the Quigg Cup Golf Competition, with close relationships with the British Quigg Cup Team. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Floy Oliver Daugherty of Atlanta; and son, Donald Finley Daugherty, Jr. of Atlanta; brother, Lyman (Kim) Daugherty of Austin, Texas; and one sister, Nancy (Ed) Dougherty of Allentown, Pa. Services were Oct. 9 at the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.
