JHS Lady Aggies finish second in area tournament

The Jackson High School softball team finished the regular season with a 24-15 record after placing second in the area tournament in Thomasville.

JHS 9, Monroe 0

Tiffany Beckham went 3-4 with two doubles and two RBIs as the Aggies blasted Monroe 9- 0 to start off area tournament action.

Danielle Gill picked up the win on the mound recording eight strikeouts.

Bridget Chancey was 2-5 with a RBI; Brittanee Crayton was 2- 4 with RBI; Nateline Moseley 3-4 with a RBI and a home run while Gill, Anna Meitzler and Ashley Jordan picked up one hit each.

Thomasville 9, JHS 3

Thomasville knocked off the Aggies 9-3 in the second game. Crayton was 2-3 with a homer; Savannah Autry 2-3 with two RBIs; and Chancey, Beckham and Gill had one hit each.

JHS 4, Escambia 3

Jackson bounced back with a 4-3 win behind Gill's seven strikeouts on the mound. Autry was 2-3 while Chancey and Moseley picked up one hit each. Meitzler was also 2-3.

THS 8, JHS 5

Thomasville won the area championship with an 8-5 win over Jackson in the nightcap. Crayton was 2-4; Chancey 2-4 with a double; Moseley 2-4 with a double; while Autry and Meitzler added one hit each.
