Mabowitz joins management team at First United Security in Thomasville

Eric Mabowitz has been recently named executive vice president and chief credit officer for First United Security Bank. Mabowitz was formerly president and chief operating officer for Premier Bank of the South based in Cullman.

"We are very pleased to welcome Eric to First United Security Bank. His extensive background and experience in credit administration, underwriting, and loan operations will be a tremendous asset for our organization." President/ CEO Terry Phillips said. "We are very fortunate to have someone with his talents in the financial industry." According to Phillips, Mabowitz' responsibilities will include oversight of the bank's credit administration, loan review and loan processing areas, among other internal operations.

"I am excited about joining the management team of First United Security Bank. This opportunity gives me a chance to utilize my skills in credit administration," Mabowitz said. "My family and I are excited about returning to southwest Alabama and establishing our home here."

Among other accomplishments, Mabowitz has served in executive level positions for the financial services industry more than 20 years in both small and large banks, as well as a federal mortgage servicing corporation impacting more than one million borrowers' accounts.

Mabowitz holds degrees from the University of West Florida (MBA 1989, BS 1987); Graduate School of Banking of Louisiana State University (2000); NBC Bond School (2003); The Southeastern School of Advanced Commercial Lending (2003). He is married to wife, Phyllis, of 16 years. They have one son, Flynn (age 10), and plan to make their home in Thomasville as soon as possible.
