Allday seeks council seat

Billy Allday
Billy Allday has announced that he will seek election to the Jackson City Council District 2 Place 2.

He previously held that position for 24 years. Eddie Huggins currently holds that seat on the council.

Allday said, "I thoroughly enjoyed working with the citizens of Jackson.

Allday is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and a 40-year veteran of the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department where he retired with the rank of captain.

"There have been many improvements in the city of Jackson, however, there will always be more. I would like to be a part of those improvements. I will help the new nutrition center building become a reality, as well as the new city park. I would also like to see a smaller mini-park in the downtown area where children and seniors alike can enjoy the breeze while supporting the downtown area."

Allday said he would only support those projects the citizens wanted and would not be obligated to any group. "I am retired and will commit myself to be available at all times to listen and answer your questions and concerns. I will work with the mayor and other council members to make Jackson a prosperous place.

"I sincerely solicit your vote and support in this campaign. I plan to personally contact all citizens in District 2 during this campaign."
