County DEC to honor local, state candidates The Washington County Democratic Executive Committee will honor the Democratic candidates for state and local offices Thursday, April 24, 7 p.m., with a reception at the Chatom Community Center. All Washington County and local area citizens, elected officials and Democratic candidates, are invited and encouraged to attend. This event represents an opportunity for the people and the candidates to meet up close and personal. Candidates are asked to bring their families. The format for this meeting will be similar to a political rally with the following exceptions: •There will be no charge to anyone for anything. •The candidates will be allowed to attend, speak and participate without charge. •There will be no cake sale or any other activity to solicit money from the candidates or others. Everyone who attends is asked to bring a covered dish. A meat dish, casserole, soup, stew, vegetable, salad, bread, dessert or all of the above may be brought. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided.
The covered dish meal begins at 7 p.m. Dress is everyday casual. Call (251) 513-1499 for questions.
