Hoven to be Iraq country manager for EODT, Inc.

EOD Technology, Inc. (EODT) has announced that Lt. Col. James B. Hoven (Retired), son of Virginia and Bruce Hoven of Jackson, has accepted the position of Iraq country manager.

In this capacity, he will be responsible for all operations in-country and be instrumental in the development of additional business from U.S. Government agencies, Iraqi Government ministries and private sector firms.

EODT is an employeeowned company that has provided munitions response, security services and critical mission support worldwide in austere and hostile environments

since 1987. These services ensure the safety, security and operational readiness of their customers. There are more than 4,000 employees/ subcontractors working for EODT in Iraq. With multiple sites throughout Iraq, headquarters are located in the International Zone (IZ), Baghdad.

Lt. Col. Hoven has had a distinguished career as a military officer in the United States Army National Guard, retiring after 21 years. Beginning his career in 1986, he was commissioned through the University of Alabama ROTC program. He spent a decade in law enforcement at the University of Alabama (U of A) Police Department and two years teaching at the U of A Law Enforcement Academy. After Sept. 11, 2001, Hoven worked full-time with the Alabama Army National Guard serving as deputy director of the Office of Military Support based in Montgomery.

Hoven is a graduate of Jackson High School and has both a bachelor of arts and a master's of science degree in criminal justice from the U of A. He and his wife, Beth, have been married 17 years and have two daughters, Julia and Jamie. They are residents of Northport.
