JHS parents' meetings scheduled

While spring sports and graduation activities are reaching the height of their season, school officials are already gearing up for the next school year. Jackson High School students will begin making their schedules for the 2008-2009 school year.

Parents may have input into their children's schedules in several ways. The most direct way is to attend one of the two meetings scheduled for parents on Tuesday, April 29 and Thursday May 1. Both meetings will be in the auditorium at Jackson High School at 6:30 p.m.

The April 29 meeting is for parents of current JHS students. The guidance counselor will make a presentation describing current options and opportunities for students, which will include scheduling information. Students are welcome to attend the meeting with their parents.

The May 1 meeting will be for parents of current 8th grade students who will need an overview of what high school is like and what is expected for their to-be-freshmen students. Once again, students may attend the meeting with their parents.

Spring is a busy time of year, but parents of high school students need to show their students how important the benefits of school are by attending these meetings if at all possible.
