Choose to serve the Lord and be welcomed into His sanctuary
Who can enter God's sanctuary? David answers that question in this psalm by identifying 11 qualities of a person who is Nothing can be loved or hated unless it is first known. This righteous person: •Walks blamelessly •Does what is righteous •Speaks the truth from his heart •Has no slander on his tongue •Does his neighbor no harm •Casts no slur on his fellowman •Despises the evil man •Honors those who fear the Lord •Keeps his oath even when it hurts •Lends his money without usury •Does not accept a bribe against the innocent These qualities don't come naturally to us. They are imparted by God through His Holy Spirit.
Living a righteous life comes when we choose each day to serve the Lord. Living for God - living a righteous life - depends on deciding, moment by moment, to do what is right. When we do our best and when we rely on His grace, we will be welcomed into His sanctuary.
