Woman charged with sneaking drugs to inmates
By Evan Carden SA Editor

A Citronelle woman is being held in the Washington County Jail on $40,000 bond after being accused of sneaking illegal drugs to four inmates.

Jessy Belle Pitt, 20, is charged with four counts of promotion of prison contraband. Her bond was set at $10,000 for each count.

According to Chief Deputy Terry Beasley, he decided to visit the jail on Saturday, March 22, to conduct a random, thorough search of packages being delivered to inmates on visiting day. Visitors are allowed to bring inmates personal hygiene items while they are incarcerated.

Inside packages designated for inmates Billy Joe Turner, Tim Seabury, Gary Simpson and Ricky Brual, Beasley found rollon deodorant containers with what appeared to be marijuana, cocaine and prescription pills hidden inside them. The packages were allegedly delivered by Pitt.

Beasley said the four inmates will each face a charge of promoting prison contraband as well.
