The event will be conducted at the Chatom Community Center on April 12. Returning events include the Junior Angler's Fishing Tournament, the Gumbo Cook-off and Silent Auction.

Registration for the fishing tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. and fishing will begin at 8. Weigh-in will be at noon, with awards presented at that time. Contact Tara Crager for more information at 847-2970.

The Gumbo Cook-off judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. Celebrity judges this year include Chef Alec Naman and Jennifer Abney of WKRG 5. Cook-off entries are still being accepted. Contact Christy Wilson for an entry form at 847- 2970.

A wide variety of items have already been collected for this year's silent auction. They include vacation packages, outdoor cookware, hunting and fishing gear, garden accessories, autographed Alabama and Auburn footballs and much more. All items have been donated by various individuals and businesses. For more information contact Charlotte Warr at 847-2970.

New to the Springtacular Celebration this year is the BASS Master's Casting Kids Competition. Children ages 7-14 years can compete beginning at 11 a.m. Registration is free and the winners will receive a Zebco rod and reel combo, Jr. BASS Master Magazine and an official BASS Masters Casting Kids medallion.

Winners will also be eligible to advance to state, divisional and possibly the BASS Master Classic competition. "ECI is proud to host this event. We hope that everyone will come out and enjoy a great family fun day. There will be events for everyone and it is certainly for a great cause," said Jennet Merida, ECI assistant director.
