MARK YOUR CALENDAR Relay for Life captains' meeting presented at Boise There will be a Jackson Relay for Life captain's meeting on Tuesday, April 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the Boise Training Center. Classic car and truck show to be hosted in Thomasville The Nuthin New Car Club will host their 18th Annual Show on April 12 at the Thomasville Plaza parking lot on Highway 43. It is an open show with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place plaques awarded on total points by the judges. Entry fee is $15 per vehicle; general admission is free. There will be lots of door prizes. OES hosting health fair The Bertha Mae Chapter No. 314 Order of the Eastern Star will host its annual health fair Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on the grounds of the Jackson City Hall. There will be free screenings for blood pressure, glucose, hearing, speech, weight and more. Mini seminars on hospice care, nursing homes, immunization, nutrition, stress and others will be presented. This is a free community health awareness program and all are invited to attend. Free health screens will be provided The Alabama Delta Rural Health Network is sponsoring a mini health fair at the Wagarville Nutrition Center Tuesday, April 8, 9 - 11 a.m. Free health screenings will be provided which include body mass, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, cholesterol and glucose. Nutrition and health education will also be presented. Coffeeville 'Spring Cleanup' to kick off April 12 The Coffeeville community's annual "Spring Cleanup" kickoff will be Saturday, April 12 from 8 a.m. until. The meeting place will be at the Coffeeville Town Hall. A dumpster will be available across from Greer's, April 12-19. Do not leave debris, tires, batteries or appliances that have Freon in them. Alabama Pals (People Against A Littered State) and the Coffeeville Beautification Committee are sponsoring this event. Citizens Against Litter announce April is 'Cleanup Month' The Clarke County Citizens Against Litter committee needs your help as April is statewide cleanup month. The committee is asking every citizen in Clarke County to assist in helping pick up litter if physically able. If all citizens took one large garbage bag and filled it with litter in their own area, Clarke County could be a cleaner county. Bags are available by contacting Rita Wilson at 251-276- 3358. Everyone is encouraged to care about the county and not litter. Roberts to gather for reunion The annual reunion of descendants and relatives of William Riley Roberts and Florence Almanza Cobb Roberts will be Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m., at Witch Creek Baptist Church near Campbell. WashCo Relay for Life hosting yard sale Washington County Relay for Life team GRITS will host a yard sale to raise money April 5 at the McIntosh United Methodist Church on Highway 43 in McIntosh beginning at 7 a.m. Salitpa Health Fair to be hosted by Springfield AME Blood pressure checks, blood sugars, cholesterol, weight, Jump 2 It (exercise), body fat profiles and medication assistance screenings will be available free of charge to all ages at the Salitpa Health Fair. There will be games, entertainment, food and door prizes. Daughters of the Confederacy to decorate graves The Private Gibeon Jefferson Sullivan Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will be decorating graves of Confederate soldiers on April 5 for Confederate History Month. Heart of Dixie Collectors Club meets last Monday of month The Heart of Dixie Collectors Club will meet the last Monday of every month at the Jackson Steakhouse at 7 p.m. in the meeting room.
