Eagles fall to 7-9

The Jackson Academy Eagles knocked off South Choctaw Academy and Wayne Academy before falling to Monroe this week on the diamond.

JA 3, SCA 1

Jamie Rone struck out seven and scattered five hits to lead the Eagles over South Choctaw Academy Tuesday, March 18.

Wesley Harris had a two-run bomb in the first inning for JA. Dylan Byrd had two hits and Josh Overstreet added a RBI.

JA 12, Wayne 2

JA blasted Wayne Academy 12-2 in six innings to improve to 7-6. Colt Ready (1-0) struck out seven while allowing four hits to pick up the win.

Dent Beard and Logan Barnes each had two-run doubles while Harris added two hits. Trey Lambard chipped in with a RBI double.

Monroe 16, JA 4

Monroe Academy handed the Eagles their only loss of the week, 16-4, Friday, March 22.

Coosa 7, JA 5

JA fell to Coosa 7-5 in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday. Ready was 1-3 with a double and two RBIs. Rone was 3-3 and Lambard was 2-3 with a RBI.

Monroe 10, JA 3

Monroe knocked off the Eagles 10-3 in the nightcap. Ready was 3-4 and Harris 2-4 for JA.

JA will be back home Tuesday, April 1 at 3:30 against Escambia.
