Lady Eagles improve to 7-6 with wins over SCA, Monroe

The Jackson Academy Eagles improved to 7-6 with two wins this past week in softball.

"We picked up two big wins this week," Eagle coach Christy Lowery said. "We are finally starting to hit the ball. Each week we are improving."

JA 9, SCA 5

Kayla Lowery struck out 9 Rebels as the Lady Eagles knocked off South Choctaw 9-5 in Toxey.

Evin Bowling found her stroke at the plate, going 4-5 to lead the JA offense. Carley Gates was 2-3, Laken Harvey 2- 3 and Lowery, Maggie Bowling and Emerald McIntyre added singles.

JA 11, Monroe 4

The Eagles knocked off Monroe 11-4 Saturday. Lowery struck out four batters to pick up her second win of the week on the mound. Sydney Thomas was 4-4, Evin Bowling 3-3, Gates 2- 3, Maggie Bowling 2-4 and Lowery and Harvey added hits for JA.

JA will host Escambia Tuesday, April 1.
