Leroy Bears win five; move to 17-2

The No.1 Leroy Bears revenged their two losses last week with five blowout wins this week on the diamond. Clint Moseley led the Bears with an amazing week in which the junior drove in 10 RBIs on a 10- 10 clip. His efforts were good enough to be named the Mobile Press Registers' Player of the Week.

Leroy 10, Excel 0

The Bears started the week off with 10-0 win over the Excel Panthers. Moseley tossed a three-hitter while striking out 12 to pick up the win.

Brandon Jones had three hits and two RBIs. Jarette Davis added a two-run homer and Grant Brown had a two-run double.

Leroy 15,

Southern Choctaw 0

Leroy continued their dominance with a 15-0 drubbing of Southern Choctaw, Friday March 21. Joel Weaver picked up the win allowing only twohits in four innings. Moseley was 3-3 with a homer and three RBIs. Joel Weaver had a solo homer and Cliff Covington added a homer for the Bears.

Leroy 15,

Southern Choctaw 2

Davis struck out 10 Indians on two hits while allowing just one run to lead the Bears over SCHS in the nightcap.

Leroy 12, Citronelle 2

Phillip Ervin picked up his first win on the mound scattering seven hits over five innings as the Bears knocked off Citronelle 12-2 in a split doubleheader in Millry. Ervin was also 2-2 at the plate with two RBIs. Moseley was 4-4 with three RBIs and Jones had a two-run homer.

Leroy 12, Millry 1

The Bears capped off the strong week with a 12-1 win over Millry in the nightcap. Jones (5-0) picked up the win on the mound. Will Blount had a two-run homer. Snow was 2-2.
