Good Hope Baptist hosts spring revival

The Good Hope Baptist Church in Walker Springs will host their annual Spring Revival April 2-4 at 7 nightly. Guest speaker on Wednesday will be the Rev. Robert Taylor, pastor of Antioch A.M.E. Church in Alma; Thursday will be the Rev. Mulvoy Taylor, pastor of Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Walker Springs; and the Rev. James Richardson of A.O.H. Church in the Winn community will speak on Friday.

The Rev. Clayton Davis Sr., pastor, invites all.

Dixie Disciples to sing at Friendship Baptist

Friendship Baptist Church, located off Highway 154, will host its homecoming on April 6 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John Gibson speaking. Morning services will be followed by lunch at 12 noon with an afternoon singing featuring the Dixie Disciples of Thomasville. Everyone is invited to attend.

Rev. Jackson to speak at annual Choir Day

Annual Choir Day will be hosted at the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Walker Springs on Sunday, April 13 at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert Jackson, pastor of the St. Luke Baptist Church of Grove Hill.

All choirs, groups and soloists are invited to take part. The community is encouraged to participate.

There will be a youth revival beginning Monday, April 14 through Friday, April 18 at 7 nightly.

The Rev. Isaiah Taylor, pastor of the Pine Grove Baptist Church of Waynesboro, Miss., will be the evangelist.

Pastor Mulvoy Taylor Jr. and the church family invite everyone to attend these events.

Truly Blessed sings April 12

The Wagarville Baptist Church will be hosting a southern gospel singing featuring Truly Blessed of Buena Vista, Ga. on Saturday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. All are invited to attend.

Fifth Sunday singing at Rockville Baptist

There will be a fifth Sunday singing at Rockville Baptist Church featuring Glory Road, March 30 at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend, said Pastor Mark Dunn.

Annual women's revival hosted

by Covered By His Grace

Beauty for Ashes Women's Ministry at Covered By His Grace Church will host their annual women's revival. Nancy Maharrey will be the speaker for the Friday, March 28, 6:30 p.m. presentation. Saturday, March 29 at 2 p.m. the guest speaker will be the Rev. Georgia Nash.

Appreciation service scheduled for Pastor Howard

The members of St. Union Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor James Howard's 13th appreciation service. Beginning Wednesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Kevin Jackson of Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church as the guest speaker.

On Friday, April 4, the Jackson Male Chorus will render a concert at 7 p.m. honoring the pastor; and Sunday, April 6, Minister Jerry Bryant will conduct the 11 a.m. service. The Rev. Bobby Johnson of Good Hill Church will conclude events with the 3 p.m. services.

143rd anniversary celebration at St. Peter Baptist

The St. Peter Baptist Church Simmons Creek Road in Grove Hill will be celebrating their 143rd church anniversary on Sunday, April 6 at 11 a.m. worship services. The Rev. Calvin Tate will be the speaker for the event. Pastor Matthew Davis invites all to attend.

Sanctuary dedication to be April 6

The Peniel Baptist Church of Jackson will have a sanctuary dedication service on Sunday, April 6. The day's events will begin with Bible study at 9:45 a.m., worship service at 11 and the dedication service at 2 p.m.

Everyone is invited to attend, especially members and former members and pastors, said Pastor Shannon Moses.

Pastor's Aid Club sponsors musical program

The Pastors Aid Club of the Mt. Shady A.M.E. Zion Church will sponsor a musical program Sunday, March 30 at 3 p.m. All are invited to attend or participate.

Musical program to be presented March 30

The Mt. Olive No. 1 Church of Rockville will be presenting a musical program March 30 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Peter Rocker will be the guest speaker. Guest groups will include the Jackson Male Chorus, the St. Union Male Chorus of Washington County, the Dedication and others, said Pastor Kevin Jackson.

Oak Grove Baptist announces

fifth Saturday night singing

A fifth Saturday night singing will be conducted at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Chilton community, March 29 at 7 p.m. The Good News of Grove Hill along with other area churches and local singers will be featured. The Rev. Morris Hill, pastor, invites the community to attend.

Refreshments will be served.

Evergreen Baptist hosts gospel singing

There will be a gospel singing at Evergreen Baptist Church on Sunday, March 30, beginning at 6 p.m. Mickey J. Nealey of Huntsville, Buddy Cook of Hotrock, Tenn. and Patricia and Mike Smith of Jackson will be the featured singers.

A love offering will be taken. Everyone is invited to come and join in.

Wild game meal and gospel singing

at Mount Gilead

On March 29 at 5 p.m. the Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Walker Springs will host a wild game meal and gospel singing.

The evening begins with the meal and is followed by the gospel singing talents of Doug and Lydia Moesta of Pensacola, Fla. The duo's music ministry has taken them throughout the United States, Canada, Jamaica and Guatemala to venues including RV resorts, TV radio, conferences, schools and prisons. They represent World Vision.

Pastor William Allison and the Mount Gilead Church family invite everyone to come and enjoy the evening.

'At The Cross' to be presented at New Canaan

New Canaan Baptist Church continues their spring revival through March 28 at 7 nightly. The guest speaker for this event will be the Rev. Kelvin Maye, pastor of Williams Chapel Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon. Pastor Van Williams Sr. invites all to come and take part.

Stave Creek sets VBS date

Power Lab "Discovering Jesus' Miraculous Power" will be the theme of this year's Vacation Bible School at Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson. The Children's Ministry at the church has set the date for June 9-13 from 5:45-8:30 p.m. Children can be registered early for this event on June 8 at 5:45 p.m.

Men and Women's Day program

The Rev. Robert L. Jackson, pastor of Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church of Bladon Springs, invites all to come and take part in their annual Men and Women's Day program, Sunday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m.

The Rev. Derrick Powell will be the guest speaker with the choir and congregation of Good Hope Baptist Church of Salitpa as special guests.

'Marvelous Mondays' throughout March

Antioch Baptist Church is celebrating Marvelous Monday Nights, throughout the month of March. There is a different speaker each Monday night at 7 with special music and singing. The Rev. Lon Baxter, pastor, invites everyone to attend.

Revival at Mt. Gilead

The Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Carlton continues with Bryant Chapman as guest evangelist through March 28 for their revival at 7 each night. The Rev. Lee Bush, pastor, invites the community to come and take part.

Bro. Williams to deliver trial sermon

The Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor of St. James A.M.E. Church of Choctaw Bluff, has announced that Bro. Clifton Williams will deliver a trial sermon at the fifth Sunday service, March 30 at 2:30 p.m.

The McRaes to present concert at WCHS

The McRaes along with the Brown Family will be performing in concert at the Washington County High School Auditorium in Chatom, April 12 at 7 p.m. Admission will be $5 at the door.

The McRaes claimed their first No. 1 song in 2004 on the national radio charts with "If It Had Not Been The Lord" and in 2005 they celebrated Song of the Year with "There Is a Remedy." In 2006 they were awarded another No. 1 song "He Knows My Name" with "When He Said Live" holding a Top 5 position for 2007. The McRaes have been nominated for two Dove Awards.
