Top-ranked Bears knock off Flomaton, fall to Clarke County

The Leroy Bears took out the Flomaton Hurricanes 8-2 Tuesday, March 11 to improve to 11-0 on the season.

Brandon Jones picked up the win on the hill scattering eight hits and two runs over seven innings while striking out seven batters.

Aerick Davis led the attack at the plate with a 2-3 night that included a solo homer. Chris Weaver was 1-3 with a three-run blast; Jones 3-3 with two RBIs and Stephen Scoggins 3-3 with a RBI double.

CCHS 10, Leroy 6

The Clarke County Bulldogs out-hit the Bears Saturday, March 15 and ran away with a 10-6 victory.

A.J. Snow picked up the loss on the hill for the Bears.

Jones was 2-4 with a RBI single and Chris Weaver added a two-run bomb.

"We aren't swinging the bats very good right now," Leroy coach Danny Powell said.

"We have to start playing better. We are a better team than what we have shown. We just haven't been able to piece stuff together."
