McIntosh man faces pot possession charges
By Evan Carden SA Editor

A McIntosh man was arrested and charged with possession marijuana following questioning by a Washington County deputy.

According to Washington County Sheriff Department reports, Darrel Lyvon Lynch, 41, of McIntosh was arrested Friday, March 14, by Deputy Johnny Curry and Task Force One Agent Lem DuBose. Curry reportedly attempted to question Lynch about an unrelated incident and noticed him behaving strangely.

"Deputy Curry noticed Lynch moving his hands in and out of his pocket," said Chief Deputy Terry Beasley. "He (Curry) suspected he had a weapon and conducted a search of his person."

Deputy Curry located several small bags of what appeared to be marijuana in Lynch's possession. "They appeared to be packaged for sale," added Beasley.

Lynch was booked into the Washington County Jail and charged with first degree possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $7,500.
