CCARC hosts Spring Jubilee 2008
This year's celebration was an extra-special occasion, as the organization marked its 35th year serving people with cognitive disabilities. The event featured entertainment by local dance groups and the band After Five, as well as some dancing by CCARC clients. The public appeared to enjoy the festivities, food and opportunities to purchase a variety of plants and other items. Several competitions highlighted the day. Winner of the Gumbo Cookoff was Kara Pringle. Male winner of the annual 5K Run was Mike Neal, with a time of 21:45. Second place went to Kent Myer, with a time of 21:47 and Alex Taylor took third place with a time of 21:50. First place female runner was Kathryn Pearson, with a time of 28:44. Laura Champion was second with a time of 30:57, followed by Bonnie Pope who had a time of 35:51.
