Jackson High School tennis teams kick off 2008 season

Jackson High School kicked off its girls and boys tennis team's season Feb. 26 in Satsuma.

They played six single boys and girls matches and three double boys and girls matches.

Kierston Allen won her singles match 6-1 while Steven Fairley won his single's match 6-3. Allen and Jared Johnson won their double match winning 6-2.

"We did really well for our first match," Aggie coach Katherine Brunson said. "It was a cold and windy day so under the conditions we did well."

Boys teams members are Kierston Allen, Jared Johnson, Jarrell Rowland, Rayferl Love, Steven Fairley, Tyler Wallace and Colby Woodyard. Girls team members are Kamisha Carson, Felecia Clark, Mallory Allday, Jamesha Johnson, Sophia Hussain, Claire Gill, Morgan Hurst and Bria Johnson. Tremeke Dixon is the team manager.

The Aggies travel to Andalusia March 8 to take part in a round robin beginning at 10 a.m.
