Charli Gill
Charli Gill of Jackson was crowned homecoming queen during Southern Union State Community College's annual homecoming festivities Feb. 21 on the Wadley campus.

Gill is a member of the Southern Union dancers, serves as president of the Student Government Association and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and GEOS (environmental awareness) club. She was named to Southern Union's President's List and represented SU at the Student Leadership Institute this summer. She was recently named to the All-Alabama Academic Team, a program that recognizes outstanding leadership and academic achievement among the state's community college students.

A graduate of Jackson High School, she is the daughter of David and Jeannie Gill. She plans to attend Auburn University this fall and major in nursing.

Members of the student body nominated candidates for the homecoming court. The queen was then chosen by popular vote among the students.
