Area Obituaries

Trisha Armistead Harrison

Trisha Armistead Harrison, a native of Jackson and resident of Butler, died Feb. 28, 2008 at a health care facility in Butler. She was 62 years of age. A secretary for Scotch Lumber Company, Ms. Harrison was a member of the Tompkins Baptist Church in Grove Hill. One grandchild, Brayden Rager, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Jonathan Blake Rager of Jackson; her father, S.A. Armistead of Grove Hill; one brother, George Sidney Armistead of Gulf Shores; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were March 1 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill. Interment was at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson.

Rhodney Lee Foxx

Rhodney Lee Foxx, a native of Jackson and resident of Huntington Station, N.Y., died in an area hospital Feb. 27, 2008 at the age of 51. He had attended Huntington High School and was a member of the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church of Huntington. A member of Local 1298 for more than 17 years, he was employed by Kings Park Industries (KPI) in Kings Park, N.Y. His mother, Doris P. Dean Foxx, preceded him in death.

Survivors are his father, James Hayden of Jackson; two sons, Trevor Jerideau of Manhattan, N.Y. and Troy Jerideau of Huntington; one grandson, Troy Jerideau Jr. of Huntingdon; one sister, Marion (Matthew) Poellnitz of Huntington; two brothers, Samuel (Gwendolyn) Montgomery and Bobby (Julia) Daffin, both of Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services are today (March 6), 11 a.m. at St. Union Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James M. Howard officiating. Viewing is from 10 a.m. to the funeral hour. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Kathleen May

Kathleen May, a native and resident of Millry, died March 2, 2008 at the age of 52. She was employed by the Washington County Circuit Clerk's Office in Chatom.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony May of Millry; one son, Bradley May of Millry; parents, Mary and Fred Everette of Millry; and one brother, Danny Everette of Millry.

Funeral services were March 4 at the Millry Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Kendrick officiating. Interment was in the Purvis Cemetery in Millry with St. Stephens Funeral Home directing.
