Jennifer Deas feted with pre-wedding events Jennifer K. Deas, bride-elect of Johnny Nichols, was the guest of honor at a miscellaneous bridal shower Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at the home of the Melinda and Bill Bailey in Wagarville. Hosting the event with Mrs. Bailey, aunt of the groom-elect, were his cousins Heather Middleton and Mardi Copeland. Special guests included Miss Deas' mother, Mrs. Sherry G. Suggs; stepmother, Mrs. Samuel Deas Jr.; grandmothers, Mrs. Warren Deas and Mrs. Buddy Garrick; aunt, Tena Anderson; Mr. Nichols' grandmother, Mrs. June Jarrell; and sisters, Allison Moseley and Laura Singleton. The Bailey home was decorated with the bride's colors of baby pink and periwinkle, including a tulip centerpiece arrangement. Approximately 50 guests were in attendance and were served cake, nuts and beverages. The couple received a variety of miscellaneous gifts. Miscellaneous Shower A miscellaneous shower was hosted, Feb. 28, at the home of the bride-elect's aunt, Kay Page of Saraland. Co-hostesses for the event were Debbie Brackin, Chandra Deas and Renee Holmes. In attendance were many of the bride-elect's family including her mother and stepmother; Mrs. Warren Deas, grandmother; Mrs. Addie Deas, great-grandmother; Ashley Smith, sister; and Lori Outlaw, aunt. The prospective groom's family included his mother, Mrs. Penny Nichols; sister, Mrs. Leslie Moseley; and aunt, Mrs. Bill Bailey. Guests were served meatballs, chicken salad and a variety of fruit and vegetables. The couple received a microwave from their hostesses. Bridal Tea Miss Deas was honored with a bridal tea at the First United Methodist Church of Jackson Christian Life Center parlor Feb. 17. Guests enjoyed petit fours, pecans, mints and punch. The bride-elect was presented a pewter serving tray and pewter dip tray by the hostesses who included Mallory Baird, Carreen Bolen, Linda Bond, Linda Breedlove, Amy Brown, Dianna Brown, Juanita Brown, Elaine Carr, Colette Chivers, Myra DeWitt, Diana DuFriend, Dottie Fore, Charlene Green, Barbara Hundley, Stacy Marks, Janet McCants, Charlene Noble, Rebekah Noble, Janet Rogers, Mary Stoker, Marsha Taylor, Billie Wilkins and Nancy Woodson.
Special guests included the bride-elect's stepmother, grandmothers and great-grandmother, Mrs. Samuel Deas Jr., Mrs. Buddy Garrick, Mrs. Warren Deas and Mrs. Addie Deas, respectively; the groom-elect's mother, Mrs. Penny Nichols; his grandmother, Mrs. June Jarrell; sister, Mrs. Allison Moseley; aunt, Mrs. Bill Bailey and Lindsey Newbauer, bridesmaid.
