Bogus info leads to arrests

Two men face drug possession charges following a traffic stop by McIntosh Police in the early morning hours of March 2.

According to McIntosh Police Capt. Mike Ready, Andra Demarkain Sullivan, 28, of McIntosh and William Banard Glass Jr., 36, of Deer Park were pulled over around 3 a.m. on U.S. Highway 43 for a traffic violation by officers Donnie Sullivan and Walter Conner.

Sullivan allegedly gave officers a bogus name and age after being stopped, telling them he was Jarmaine Reynord Hicks and that he was 30 years old. A check revealed his real identity, as well a a driving with a susp license charge.

Ready said the officers decided to continue investigating and obtained a consent the vehicle to search from Sullivan. A search of Glass' person revealed 10 baggies of marijuana. Sullivan was found to be in possession of both crack and powder cocaine, as well as a pipe believed to be used for smoking crack cocaine.

Sullivan was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving false information to a police officer. He was booked into the Washington County Jail. His bond was set at $2,000.

Glass was charged with first degree possession of marijuana and booked into the Washington County Jail. His bond had not been set by Tuesday's press deadline.
