Men and Women's Day celebration on March 9

Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church will be celebrating their annual Men and Women's Day Sunday, March 9 at 12 noon. Bro. Johnny and Sis. Marilyn Berry will be the guest speakers. The Rev. Mulvoy Taylor Jr. is the pastor.

108th year church celebration is March 16

The Good Hope Baptist Church of Walker Springs will celebrate their 108th year church anniversary Sunday, March 16 at 2:30 p.m. Speaker for the occasion will be the Rev. William Jackson, pastor of Lil Burrah Baptist Church. All are welcome to attend said Pastor Clayton Davis Sr.

Anniversary plans at Good Hope Missionary

The Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church family will be celebrating their church anniversary on Sunday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Dave Adams, pastor of Mackey Branch No. 2 Baptist Church of Gosport and Little Sunflower Baptist Church of Sunflower, along with his congregations, will be the special guests.

Pastor Derrick Powell welcomes all to take part.

Bladon Springs C.L.S. Phase 2 begins March 15

The Rev. D.W. Moore, dean of the Christian Leadership Schools (C.L.S.) at Free Mission District, the Bladon Springs District and the Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church, have announced Phase 2 of the program. Classes will begin Saturday, March 15, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and continue every other Saturday for eight classes. Fee per student is $20.

Christian Leadership Schools are associated with the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education U.S.A. All are encouraged to take part in these classes. For additional information call the Rev. Moore at 246-9458.

Anniversary celebration at Mt. Olive No. 2

The Rev. Kevin Jackson, pastor, and the congregation of Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker and special guests Sunday, March 9, 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church. The church will be celebrating its 120th anniversary.

Sunday School will meet at 9:30 a.m., morning worship at 11 and the anniversary program at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Edsel Davis is the interim pastor at Mt. Olive No. 2.

Bishop Hughes guest speaker at 22nd anniversary

The Full Gospel Apostolic Church of God of St. Stephens will celebrate the 22nd year of appreciation for Bishop Theodore Law and Sis. Mary L. Law. Activities will be continue through Friday, March 7 at 7:30 nightly and Sunday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m.

Bishop C.E. Hughes, pastor of Bay City Cathedral of Mobile, will be the guest speaker.

Pastor T.L. Douglas to be honored

Grove Hill Missionary Baptist Church in the Eliska community of Uriah invites the community to a pre-anniversary program honoring Pastor T.L. Douglas Sr. for 31 years of service, Sunday, March 16 at 3 p.m. Special guests will be the Rev. Dave Adams and Mackey Branch No. 2 Baptist Church of Whatley.

The Pastor's Aid Committee is sponsoring the program; Mary Hill English is president. Dinner will be served.

St. Paul A.M.E. hosting

Resurrection & Colorauma program

Min. Sarah Bradley of the Family Life Youth Center in Monroeville will be the guest speaker for the Resurrection & Colorauma program at St. Paul A.M.E. Church of Carlton Sunday, March 23. The Rev. Georgia Nash, pastor, said the Resurrection will begin at 6 a.m. with the Colorauma at 2 p.m.

'Marvelous Mondays' throughout March

Antioch Baptist Church is celebrating Marvelous Monday Nights, throughout the month of March. There is a different speaker each Monday night at 7 with special music and singing. The Rev. Lon Baxter, pastor, invites everyone to attend.

First year appreciation for Heavenly Angels

The community is invited to an appreciation program, Saturday, March 15, 6 p.m. for the Heavenly Angels at New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Choctaw Bluff. The guest speaker will be Minister LaKendrick Howard of St. Union Baptist Church of Jackson.

Guest groups will be the Angels of Patience of Mobile and the Land Boys of Millry. Pastor Van Williams Sr. invites all to attend.

Rev. Abston honored on 11th anniversary

The Rev. Ceasar Abston will be celebrating his 11th anniversary as pastor of Lewis Grove Baptist Church in Wagarville. They will honor their pastor Sunday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker for this event will be the Rev. Albert Ridgeway of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Coffeeville.

First Assembly to host largest Tri County Easter Egg Hunt

Jackson First Assembly of God will host the annual Tri County's Largest Easter Egg Hunt on March 15 at 10 a.m. The kids will be provided with free coke and popcorn and more than 4,000 eggs.

There will be three grand prize eggs per age division. •0-3 years of age - $25, tricycle and battery powered motorcycle •4-7 years of age - $25, bicycle and Ipod

•8-11/sixth grade - $25, bicycle and Ipod

Pastor Russell invites everyone to attend the "Easter Egg Hunt." For more information call the church office at 246-4736. First Assembly is located on Highway 69, across from the National Guard Armory.

Annual Brotherhood meeting continues at

Inspirational Tabernacle

The annual Brotherhood meeting at Inspirational Tabernacle COGIC continues through March 7 at 7:30 nightly. Men only are invited to the Friday noon gathering. Prophet Cleveland Shearls of Abundance of Blessings of Moss Point, Miss. will be the speaker of the week said Pastor Jim House.

Benefit gospel singing March 14

A benefit gospel singing will be presented at the Hobson Assembly of God Church on Friday, March 14 at 7 p.m. Featured singers will be Jimmy Roberts and the Ambassadors, along with other local talent.

A special offering will be taken for erecting a fence around the Hobson Community Cemetery. Everyone is invited to attend.

Youth Day and revival at Mt. Gilead

The Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Carlton will host their annual youth day Sunday, March 23 at 11 a.m.

Bryant Chapman will be the guest evangelist for the March 24- 28 revival gathering at 7 each night. The Rev. Lee Bush, pastor, invites the community to come and take part.

Bro. Williams to deliver trial sermon

The Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor of St. James A.M.E. Church of Choctaw Bluff, has announced that Bro. Clifton Williams will deliver a trial sermon at the fifth Sunday service, March 30 at 2:30 p.m.
