Watson - Williams vows exchanged Feb. 2
The home of Billie Sue and Tommy Windham of Gainestown, aunt and uncle of the bride, was the setting for the outdoor wedding. Officiating the 2 p.m. ceremony was the Rev. Scott Armstrong of Camden, a longtime friend of the family. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Geary Williams of Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Steven Watson of Greenwood, S.C. Grandparents are Herman Boutwell of Jackson, Willie Shade "Sonny" Williams of Jackson and the late Betty Joyce Williams, Dr. Joe Watson of Enterprise and the late Martha Nader Blasingame. The covered garden patio and porches were decorated with arrangements of snapdragons, Monte Casino chrysanthemums and curly willow. The archway, leading to the improvised altar on the covered patio, was decorated with holly, nandina, short-leaf pine, camellia and magnolia leaves intertwined with ivy and leather leaf fern. Arrangements of snapdragons, curly willow, crabapple blossoms and chrysanthemums in oiled bronze wrought iron tall baskets were placed on both sides of the altar. Ivory organza bows were tied around each column on the covered patio. Marilyn Whitehead of Jackson, sang "Your Love Amazes Me" by John Barry. Children of the couple entered the garden area to "I Want To Be More Like You" by Phillips, Craig and Dean. The bride entered through the archway to "Cannon in D" and "Here and Now" by Luther Vandross was played for the recessional. The bride, escorted and given in marriage by her mother and father, wore an ivory charmeuse halter gown with sequin and pearl beading at the bust-line. She wore a handmade veil of ivory organza fashioned with a rhinestone barrette and carried long-stemmed white calla lilies wrapped in ivory organza ribbon. The father of the groom presented the opening prayer. Attending the bride was Carzie Williams, daughter of the bride. She wore a bronze organza sleeveless gown with bronze tulle overlay and accented with powder blue and bronze beading at the neckline and waist. She carried a miniature bouquet of white calla lilies and tree fern wrapped in ivory organza ribbon. Attending the groom were Caymen Williams of Jackson, son of the bride and Brayden Watson and Bryce Watson, sons of the groom. They wore chocolate brown dress pants, powder blue shirts with camel colored vests with blue and chocolate brown pinstripe. Reception A reception was conducted immediately following the ceremony. Round tables on the covered patio were draped with white linens and chocolate and powder blue organza toppers. Centered on each table was an arrangement of short-leaf pine and Queen Anne lace in crystal vases. In the formal dining room of the home was an assortment of finger foods served on antique crystal and sterling silver trays, belonging to the aunt of the bride. A table runner of chocolate and powder blue organza provided the tablescape. An arrangement of crabapple blossoms in a crystal vase was placed in the center of the table. White spray roses, calla lilies, pussywillow, curly willow, lilies, hydrangea and larkspur in crystal vases centered the buffet table. An antique table in the corner of the family room held the bride's three-tiered ivory square cake on a silver plateau. The cake was decorated with buttercream icing and accented with ribbon in the bride's chosen colors of chocolate and powder blue. Apothecary glass jars with crystal and silver balls accented the tables throughout the home. A variety of desserts and punch was served. A cheesecake, a favorite of the groom, was served from the groom's table which was decorated in a hunting theme that included a large wrought iron deer and a bowl made of deer horns. Music was provided by Chris Tarleton, a friend of the bride. Directing the wedding was Bridget Weaver, aunt of the bride. The couple honeymooned at a ski resort in Granby, Colo. and are residing in Jackson. Pre-wedding breakfast A pre-wedding breakfast was hosted in the home of Carmen Rotch, cousin of the bride, of Grove Hill. Co-hostessing the event was Judy Deas. Breakfast casserole, cream cheese danish, fruit, cheese biscuits, juice and coffee were served.
Guests included mother of the bride, Renee Williams, mother of the groom, Tama Watson, sisters of the bride, Cassie Skaggs of Hokes Bluff and Carrie Campbell of Northport and aunts and cousins.
