Two injured in head-on crash on Forest Avenue
By Evan Carden SA Editor

For the second time in two weeks injuries resulted from a head-on crash on Forest Avenue in Jackson.

According to Police Chief Charles Burge, the crash occurred around 8:19 p.m., Feb. 23 between College Avenue and Washington Street when a 1994 Cadillac, driven by Steven Jerome Jones, 30, of Montgomery, collided with a 1996 Chevrolet driven by Dorothy Jones Tolbert, 60, of Thomasville.

Burge said both drivers claimed the other one was on the wrong side of the street when they collided while attempting to swerve to miss the other's vehicle.

Jones was arrested and charged with DUI. Gregory Parker Sr., 52 and Gregory Parker Jr., 19, both of Montgomery, were passengers in Jones' vehicle and suffered what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. They were transported by private vehicle to Jackson Medical Center for treatment.
