Church Calendar 'Marvelous Mondays' begin in March Antioch Baptist Church will celebrate Marvelous Monday Nights, March 3-31. There will be a different speaker each Monday night at 7 with special music and singing. The Rev. Lon Baxter, pastor, invites everyone to attend. Missionary Day and spring revival upcoming at Pine Chapel No. 2 The Pine Chapel Baptist Church No. 2 invites the community to their annual Missionary Day program Sunday, March 2 at 3 p.m. All ladies are requested to wear white said the Rev. Cleveland Williams, interim pastor. A spring revival will be presented March 10-15 at 7 nightly. All are encouraged to attend. First year appreciation for Heavenly Angels The community is invited to an appreciation program, Saturday, March 15, 6 p.m. for the Heavenly Angels at New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Choctaw Bluff. The guest speaker will be Minister LaKendrick Howard of St. Union Baptist Church of Jackson. Guest groups will be the Angels of Patience of Mobile and the Land Boys of Millry. Pastor Van Williams Sr. invites all to attend. Rev. Abston to be honored on 11th anniversary The Rev. Ceasar Abston will be celebrating his 11th anniversary as pastor of Lewis Grove Baptist Church in Wagarville. The church will honor their pastor Sunday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker for this event will be the Rev. Albert Ridgeway of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Coffeeville. First Assembly to host largest Tri County Easter Egg Hunt Jackson First Assembly of God will host the annual Tri County's Largest Easter Egg Hunt on March 15 at 10 a.m. The kids will be provided with free coke and popcorn and more than 4,000 eggs. There will be three grand prize eggs per age division. •0-3 years of age - $25, tricycle and battery powered motorcycle •4-7 years of age - $25, bicycle and Ipod •8-11/sixth grade - $25, bicycle and Ipod Pastor Russell invites everyone to attend the "Easter Egg Hunt." Accolades will be bestowed on Elder Calhoun The Sunflower AOH Church of God will be honoring Pastor Samuel L. Calhoun Saturday, March 29 at 6 p.m. The pastor has been preaching for 38 years, sung for 24 years and will be celebrating his 72nd birthday. Special guests will be the Rev. Hubert Baker and the Believers of Mobile, the Spiritual Kings of Dixons Mills, the Humble Spirits, Central Gospel Singers and Life Tech Gospel Group, all of Thomasville. Master of ceremony will be Winfred Holt also of Thomasville. Pastor Adams to be honored with anniversary celebration Little Sunflower Missionary Baptist Church will host an anniversary celebration for their pastor Sunday, March 2, beginning at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Dave Adams Jr. has been pastor at the church for 15 years. Guest minister will be the Rev. Ivory James from Millry. The congregation invites all to come and take part in this event. Women in Winter to conduct spring meeting The spring meeting for the Women in Winter Ministry will be March 5, 10 a.m. at the Stave Creek Baptist Church on Coffeeville Road in Jackson. Women from throughout Clarke County are invited to attend and represent their churches said hostess Annette Stokes. This is an inter-faith ministry and the money raised from the Easter project will be used to assist women age 50 plus with emergency needs. The devotional speaker for the day will be Estelle Jones sharing a message entitled "Jesus, The One The Only." Hazel Butler, songwriter, soloist and pianist will assist with the music. Annual Brotherhood meeting to be at Inspirational Tabernacle The annual Brotherhood meeting at Inspirational Tabernacle COGIC will be conducted March 3-7 at 7:30 nightly. Men only are invited to the Friday noon gathering. Prophet Cleveland Shearls of Abundance of Blessings of Moss Point, Miss. will be the speaker of the week said Pastor Jim House. Ecuador fund-raiser at FUMC The First United Methodist Church in Jackson, together with area merchants, will host a fashion show to assist in raising money for an Ecuador mission trip. It will be an evening including hors d'oeuvres, door prizes and the latest in fashions. Area merchants will be showcased. The fashion show will be Friday, Feb. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Admission is free, however, donations will be greatly appreciated. Rev. Bracy to speak at Matrons Day
