Local author conducts book signing at White Smith Library

Jim Herod of Grove Hill, the recently published author of "Gathering Moss", will discuss his work, present a slide show and sign copies of his novel at the White Smith Memorial Library on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Herod is a native of Selma and educated at the University of Alabama and the University of North Carolina. He spent 35 years as a professor of mathematics and science at Georgia Tech, the University of Montana, West Point and the University of Karlsruhe.

The novel deals with the Stone family and "a new release of the human species. To understand the gift they inherited, the children need to uncover family stories. Knowing the past, the children will make their future and will be the future of the human race."
