New health department building taking shape
 | | The future new home of the Washington County Health Department is taking shape, now with outer walls and a roof. The Washington County Commission approved the construction of the new health department in 2006. The county engineer's office completed the site preparation then the project was turned over to the state. Work was delayed due to problems with the site that had to be corrected and county employees being busy with other projects, such as bridge replacement and road resurfacing. Richard Nelson of Robins and Morton, the engineering firm overseeing the project, said the building is expected to be completed sometime in late summer or early fall of this year. Withering Associates is the contractor, with Washington County resident Terry Nelson serving as the onsite supervisor. (SA photo by Evan Carden) |
