Area teams advance to sub-state

It seems that our area teams are peaking at the right time with almost all of them advancing to the sub-regionals this weekend in round ball action.

The Leroy Bears' boys and girls won the 2A Area 1 championship and will host the subregionals Thursday and Friday in Leroy. The Jackson Lady Aggies earned the 4A Area 1 championship while the boys lost a close one to Thomasville to finish second in the tournament and travel come Friday night. Both the McIntosh Demons' boys and girls teams earned 1A Area 1 championships and the right to host the sub-regionals. Thomasville's boys won 4A Area 1 while the Tigers' girls finished up second behind Jackson. Clarke County High School saw its girls and boys win 3A Area 1 championships also.
