Eagle Scout honored by state organization

Ethan Elmore, Eagle Scout of Chilton, recently received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Alabama Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans, at the state level.
The SCV honored him for his restoration of the historic Bell-Brewer Cemetery in the New Prospect community where four Confederate soldiers are buried. At the Jan. 14 ceremony, all the veterans were given a CSA military salute by Confederate re-enactors, and Capt. John Bell who was a native of the community was eulogized in Ethan's dedicatory address.
