Several charged with illegal drug possession
By Evan Carden SA Editor

AFlorida man was arrested by McIntosh Police, Friday, Feb. 8, and faces multiple drug and firearm possession charges.

Russell Lynn Bourdon, 47, of Masaryktown, Fla. was arrested during a traffic stop around 4:30 p.m. after officers found what they believed to be marijuana in his vehicle.

According to Officer Brad Singleton, he pulled Bourdon over in the parking lot of the Dollar General store for a traffic violation. Following a consentual search of the vehicle he located a glass pipe, which appeared to contain marijuana residue and a round box containing a small amount of the illegal drug. Officer Mike Brown arrived on the scene and located what was believed to be more marijuana under the seat and in the console of the vehicle.

In addition to the marijuana, officers also found approximately 10 pills, which appeared to be the prescription drug Zanex, inside a camouflage bag in the trunk of the car.

Bourdon was charged with possession of a controlled substance, second degree possession of marijuana and possession of a pistol without a permit.

In a separate incident, two residents from the Birmingham area were arrested after Officer Singleton located marijuana inside their vehicle.

According to Singleton, he stopped Tunstall Hawkins, 33, of Birmingham and Jason Morissette, 25, of Lower Peach Tree for a traffic violation on Highway 43, Saturday. A consentual search of their vehicle turned up a small amount of marijuana.

Both men were arrested, charged with second degree possession of marijuana and released. They will be required to appear in McIntosh Municipal Court.

Women face possession charges

Two separate traffic stops by Washington County deputies resulted in possession charges for two women.

Cheryl J. Finch, 37, of McIntosh was arrested Feb. 6, after she was pulled over on Abb Richardson Road by Deputy Ferrell Grimes and he found a prescription painkiller in her possession. Because Finch was unable to provide proof of a valid prescription for the drug, she was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $7,500.

On Feb. 8, Deputy DeShon Holloway stopped Tenika Desha Jones, 33, of Stateline Miss., on Highway 45 in Fruitdale. In her possession he found a prescription painkiller, for which she had no proof of a valid prescription.

Jones was booked into the Washington County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
