WashCo officials meet with governor

Washington County officials attended an informal meeting in Jackson, Monday, Feb. 11, hosted by State Representative Marc Keahey. Also present were Gov. Bob Riley, U.S. Congressman Jo Bonner and public officials throughout the region. The meeting was designed as sort of a brainstorming session during which officials voiced their concerns surrounding the location of the ThyssenKrupp steel plant to Calvert. The meeting was followed by the governor's official announcement of New Gas Concepts' location of its Dixie Pellets plant to Jackson. (SA photos by Evan Carden)
