McIntosh boys win area tournament

The McIntosh Demons boys basketball team knocked off Coffeeville and Sweet Water to win the Class 1A Area 1 championship this weekend in round ball action.

First Round McIntosh 81, C'ville 71

The Demons won by 10 points over the visiting Panthers from Coffeeville to advance to the championship game Friday night. Darrell Thomas and G'Ajun Land scored 14 points each to help the Demons advance.

Championship McIntosh 58, Dawgs 49 McIntosh upended the Sweet Water Bulldogs 58-49 to win the tournament championship.

Everett Horn led the Demons with 19 points. Thomas had 14 and Anthony Barnes 12 for McIntosh.

The Demons host A.L. Johnson Friday night with the winner advancing to the Region Tournament.
