Lady Aggies lose to Hillcrest, CCHS

The Jackson Lady Aggies slipped to 11-13 with losses to Hillcrest and Clarke County this past weekend.

Hillcrest 56, JHS 48

Jackson went 14-31 from the charity stripe and fell to Hillcrest 56-48 Friday night on the road.

Genesis Bernard and Brittnee Crayton both scored nine points each in the loss. Raven Tiggs and Iesha Bush added seven points each.

CCHS 68, JHS 59

The Aggies struggled from the free throw line again going just 11-26 and it cost them another loss. Bernard was the leading scorer with 200 points. Tiggs and Kechonda Martin added 11 and Crayton chipped in with 10 in the loss.

"We are playing extremely hard," Aggie coach Trinnia McKenzie said. "We are just missing two many free throws and layups."

Jackson travels to Thomasville this weekend for the area tournament. The Aggies meet up with Escambia County at 5:30 Thursday, Feb. 7 with the winner advancing to take on the winner of the Thomasville/Monroe Co. game.
