North Jackson Park gets upgrades
North Jackson Park has been getting some much needed improvements as baseball season fast approaches. A new automated irrigation system is being put in on the Dixie League, Minor League and Little League fields. "We have been losing the fields during the winter, "Councilman Paul South said. "This will help ensure the fields stay in great condition year round." The Jackson City Council approved the $18,000 project earlier this year. Also the Little League field is getting a new 16 foot net along both the first and third base lines to safeguard fans while enjoying the games. Ivory James DBA construction crew (above) works on putting up the new nets. Lear Landscaping Services and Jimmy Atchison are putting in the new irrigation system.
