Holly named to state board

LaShaunda Holly, executive director of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, was recently elected to the board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama. Her term of office is for 2008-2009.

The Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (CCAA) achieves its mission through serving the professional development needs of more than 100 chambers of commerce, large and small, throughout Alabama. It offers a variety of seminars for both chamber executives and chamber staff members and creates various opportunities for idea exchange and networking through Chamber Leadership Day, Professional Development C l i n i cSummer Conference, the annual meeting, and regional meetings. In 2003, the CCAAand the Business Council of Alabama formed The Partnership, the first of its kind in America, to expand the grassroots network available to both organizations. The BCA is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization working to improve Alabama's business climate and serving as a voice for more than 5,000 Alabama businesses and industries.

"It is an honor and privilege to be elected to this statewide position," said Holly. "I am excited about the direction of CCAA, especially regarding The Partnership and the efforts of chambers statewide to make a difference in their local economies and quality of life".

"LaShaunda embodies the characteristics of a successful chamber professional in her commitment to the advancement of the business community of Jackson and its surrounding areas," said CCAA President and CEO L. Ralph Stacy. "She brings a perspective to our board that will help us properly represent the myriad needs of the business community of Alabama.
