According to police reports, Officer Walter Conner stopped Forney for speeding on U.S. Highway 43, around 8 p.m. A driver's license check revealed the subject was on probation for armed robbery. Officer Conner asked Forney to exit his vehicle and proceeded to pat him down for weapons. During the search he found a small amount of what he believed to be marijuana in Forney's left coat pocket.
