Argument leads to murder in McIntosh
By Evan Carden SA Editor

An argument between two men, believed to be related, led to the shooting death of one of them in McIntosh, Wednesday, Jan. 30.

According to McIntosh Police Officer Mike Brown, the incident took place around 6:30 p.m. at the Charlie Lee Road residence of Donnie Lee Adams, 50. Killed was Tauras Jamaal Adams, 30, who Officer Brown said was believed to have been a cousin of Donnie Adams, who is accused of killing him.

Brown went on to say, while there was no apparent reason for the shooting, it is believed the two men may have had some type of argument.

The two men reportedly did not get along. When the shooting took place, Officer Brown said the younger Adams was at the residence to supposedly pick up some of his personal items. Donnie Adams allegedly retrieved a shotgun and shot Tauras Adams in the upper thigh area of his left leg.

Police and the McIntosh Rescue Squad responded to the scene. Taurus Adams was transported to the Ciba helipad to await the arrival of a medical helicopter for transport to a Mobile hospital, but died before it could arrive.

Donnie Adams was placed under arrest and booked into the Washington County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder. Bond was set at $25,000
