Clarke Grand Jury returns 249 indictments
      The Clarke County Grand Jury returned 249 criminal indictments or "true bills" last week. The 249 included 188 felony charges and 61 misdemeanors. Several cases were continued for the term, either for more investigation or because one or more witnesses did not appear.

Leathers tapped as CFO of Austal USA
      AGrove Hill man has been named chief financial officer for a mega shipbuilding company headquartered in Mobile that is anticipating major growth. Brian Leathers was tapped to be CFO of Austal USA a few weeks ago and started his new job Monday. He is the first CFO of the Mobile shipyard.

Washington County Sheriff's Report
      The Washington County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests during the past week: •Charles Wiley, 23, of McIntosh was arrested Jan. 28 and charged with first degree theft of property and failure to pay child support. Bond was set at $7,500 and he was ordered to pay $1,787.50.
