The Jackson Aggies boys and girls varsity basketball teams fell to the Thomasville Tigers in the first round of the Clarke County Tournament Friday, Jan. 18 in Grove Hill.

Three days after knocking off the Tigers on the road to pick up the 4A Area 1 championship, Jackson's boys were upended 51-46 for a quick exit in the county tournament. Josh Ezell led Jackson with 12 points while B.J. Brown added nine.

"Thomasville played pretty good," Aggie coach Marcus Caster said. "But we played by far our worst game of the season. They (THS) have gotten the best of us the last couple times in this tournament. We have won the area and beat them in the regular season the last few years but lost in this tourney."

Jackson travels to Hillcrest- Evergreen on Friday and Clarke County on Saturday before hosting the area tournament next week.

The Lady Aggies found themselves in the same boat Friday night when Thomasville knocked them off 41-27.

"We didn't do anything," coach Trinnia McKenzie said. "We didn't communicate to execute our offense. We have to get the kinks out," she said.

Raven Tiggs and Kechonda Martin each had six points for the Lady Aggies.
