Estelle Mary Boucher

Estelle Mary Boucher, a native of Worcester, Mass. and a resident of Jackson, died Jan. 24, 2008 at a Mobile hospital. A retired nurse with Memorial Hospital in Worcester, she was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Jackson.

She is survived by her husband, Emile Boucher of Jackson; five sons, Mike (Mary) Boucher of Jackson, Mark (Diana) Boucher of San Antonio, Texas, Tom (Cheri) Boucher of Mobile, Chip (Elizabeth) Boucher of Memphis, Tenn. and Joseph (Chris) Boucher of Galesburg, Mich.; one daughter, Diane (Tom) Johnson of Brandon, Fla.; a sister, Theresa Daunais of Worcester; and 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services were Jan. 26 at Visitation Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Havens officiating. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed arrangements.

John D. Gill

John D. Gill, a native of Jackson and resident of Walker Springs, died at the age of 77, Jan. 29, 2008. He was a salesman for Cedar Ridge Mobile Homes. Mr. Gill was a member and deacon of Forest Avenue Baptist Church of Jackson and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Eloise E. Gill of Walker Springs; two sons, Darren (Nancy) Gill and David (Jeannie) Gill, both of Walker Springs; two daughters, Myra (Craig) Smith of Orlando, Fla. and Bunnie (David) Lazenby of Monroeville; a sister, Peggy Bracken of Brewton; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services are (today) Jan. 31 at Forest Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Rushing and the Rev. E.C. Russell officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directing.

Pallbearers are Jeff Creel, Dick Creel, Danny Gill, John Brackin, Ashley Milstead, Mickey Arnold, Jack Greer and Dixon Greer. Honorary pallbearers included the Men's III Sunday School Class and Prayer Group, the deacons of Forest Avenue Baptist Church, Jimmy Jones, the Prescott family and staff of Cedar Ridge Mobile Homes, Lloyd Harvison, Carl Gwin, Leroy Whited and Gray Milstead.

Anna Teresa Huckabee

Anna Teresa Huckabee, 48, died Jan. 27, 2008 at her residence in Coffeeville. She was a native of Jackson. Employed with Dumas Manufacturing Co., she was a member of Grace Chapel Church in Coffeeville.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie Huckabee of Coffeeville; two daughters, Maria Lewis of Tampa, Fla. and Eva Roberts of Thomasville; a son, Michael Henson of Coffeeville; stepson Joshua Kaleb Huckabee of Plantersville; a granddaughter, Brianna Lewis of Tampa; and her mother, Eva Mae Woodham of Coffeeville.

Funeral services were Jan. 28 at the Grace Chapel Church in Coffeeville with the Rev. Sonny Hoven officiating. Interment was in the Moseley Springs Cemetery in Coffeeville under the direction of Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson.

Pallbearers were Mack May, Eddie Huckabee, Craig Huckabee, Buster Brown, James Brooks and Charles Brooks. Honorary pallbearers were Terri Hooper, Fletcher Cox, Jimmy Counselman, Cecil Roberts and Walter Gray Brooks.

Jennifer Inez Jones

Jennifer Inez Jones, a native of Jackson and resident of Auburn, formerly of Pine Hill, died Jan. 25, 2008 at an Auburn area health care facility. She was 36 years of age. A retired director of Scales Ave Child Development Center in Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Jones was a member of the Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia. Her father, Marvin Dennis Paul, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Kevin Jones of Auburn; a daughter, Kylie Jones of Auburn; her mother, Geraldine Dumas of Grove Hill; two brothers, Teddy Paul of Grove Hill and Will Sheffield of Stephensville,Texas; and two sisters, Christine Day of Akron and Lori Garris of Leroy.

Funeral services were Jan. 28 at the Union Baptist Church in Grove Hill with interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Fletcher Overstreet Jr., Philip Day, Brad Garris, Bradley Paul, Kenneth Jones and Jeff Jones. Arrangements were by Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson.

Susan Rena Overton

Susan Rena Overton died Jan. 16, 2008 at a Mobile area hospital. She was a native of Butler and a resident of Jackson. Mrs. Overton was a certified nursing assistant for Jackson Health Care Facility and a member of Peniel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Overton of Jackson; a daughter, Holly Moseley Hayes of Coffeeville; her mother, Martha Nelson Roberts of Butler; a brother, Roger Nelson of Jackson; three sisters, Vickie Poole of Lincolnton, N.C., Kay Giles of Gilbertown and Lori Kelley of Whatley; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was Jan. 25 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson.

James Edward Robinson

James Edward Robinson, age 58, a native of Jackson and resident of Atlanta, Ga., died Jan. 22, 2008 at his home. As a child, he attended Mt. Sinai No. 1 Baptist Church. He was employed with BellSouth for 18 years prior to establishing his own business, Robinson Fabricated Welding. He was educated in the Clarke County School System and furthered his education at Carver State in Mobile where he received a certificate in welding.

Survivors include his former wife Sandra Hill of Decatur, Ga.; two sons, Charles Patrick of Decatur and Lonnie Gray of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Stephanie Clark, Decatur; parents, Calvin, Sr. and Roberta Robinson of Jackson; six sisters, Gladys Marie Robinson and Rhonda Yvette Robinson, both of Decatur, Lisa Anita (Waudell) Tucker, Shonda Evette Bass and Belinda M. (Marcus) Kelley, all of Jackson, and Dangale Catina (Lamartine) Meda of Auburn; three brothers, Eddie Earl Robinson and Calvin Robinson III, both of Decatur and Henry Lee Robinson of Atlanta; and seven grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 26 at Mt. Sinia No. 1 Baptist Church with the Rev. Terrence Fleeton, pastor and Pastors Marcus and Belinda Kelley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Andrews Funeral Home of Jackson,

Mary Adrianne Buckalew

Mary Adrianne Davis Buckalew died Jan. 25, 2008 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa at the age of 57. A native and resident of Marengo County, she was a homemaker and served in the armed forces.

Her survivors include two sons, Gabriel Buckalew of Troy and Zachary (Katherine) Buckalew of Mobile; and two grandchildren, Elijah Blue Buckalew and Ethan Bruce Buckalew.

A rosary service was Jan. 29 at Saint Leo's Catholic Church in Demopolis, with a funeral Mass Jan. 30. Father Larry Shinnick officiated, with St. Stephens Funeral Home of St. Stephens directing.

David Lee Dearing

David Lee Dearing, 76, died Jan. 27, 2008 at Eight Mile Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. He was a native and resident of the Walker Springs community. A millwright for Boise Cascade for 28 years, he was also a Korean Conflict veteran for the United States Air Force.

Survivors include a daughter, Nedrin Dearing of Chickasaw and his sister, Ruby Dell Jeydenburk of Lillian.

The service was Jan. 29 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Walker Springs with Bro. William Allison officiating and St. Stephens Funeral Home of St. Stephens directing. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wayne Harrell, Gene Dailey, Robbie Dailey, Mike Walker, Jimmy Chapman and Lester Brown. Honorary pallbearers are the VFW Club members and the original members of the Dirty Dozen Hunting Club.

Mary Helen Denson

Mary Helen Denson, 42, died Jan. 27, 2008 at Monroe County Hospital in Monroeville. She was a native and resident of Thomasville and was also a caregiver.

Survivors include a son, Barry Denson of Mississippi; one daughter, Jennifer Fant of Thomasville; her mother, Helen Eloise White Denson of Thomasville; three brothers, Tommy Denson of Mobile and Charles Denson and Jerry Denson, both of Thomasville; one sister, Doris Dement of Thomasville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Jan. 30 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Thomasville with Christopher Giles officiating. Interment was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville under the direction of St. Stephens Funeral Home of St. Stephens.

Pallbearers included Jeremy Fant, Skip Geiser, Donnie Williams, Jimmy McHenry, Jason Smith and Tracy Hutchison. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Henry Deason III and Stan Sheehan.

Nimoy M. Pugh

Nimoy M. Pugh, 39, of Savoy, Ill., died Jan. 21, 2008 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, Ill. A native of Jackson, he was the son of Janie Pugh and the late Ezekel Whittle. He worked for ADM as a manager in grain manufacturing.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Gough; mother, Janie Pugh; a brother, Glen Blackwell; and two sisters, Denise Whittle Smith and Jennifer Whittle Colston.

Memorial services were Jan. 26, 2008 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home in Decatur, Ill. In accordance with Mr. Pugh's wishes, his cremains will be put to rest in southern Alabama at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
