Four face charges for drugs and stolen guns
Terrance Washington, Millicent White, Michael Allen White and Lorian Manuel, all face drug possession charges and Washington may face additional charges stemming from possession of several guns believed to be stolen from the Jackson Pawn Shop in 2006. According to Task Force One Agent Blane Barnett, he, along with Jackson Police officers Jonathan Downey and Carey Slayton and deputies from the Clarke County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant on Washington's residence Jan. 18. At that time, officers found two stolen rifles wrapped in plastic bags, a small amount of marijuana, two unknown pills and a set of scales. The serial numbers on the rifles matched those of two guns reported stolen from the pawn shop. Washington and his girlfriend, Millicent White, who was at the residence when the search took place, were taken into custody and booked into the Clarke County Jail. Washington was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. He was held without bond.
Because calls made and received at the Clarke County Jail are monitored, communications between White and Washington led officers to believe that he was attempting to instruct her to move a large amount of cocaine from the residence. Agent Barnett and Deputy Ron Baggette were able to obtain a search warrant, which they executed sometime after 11 p.m., Jan. 25. When the officers, assisted by Jackson Police, arrived at the residence they found White, her brother, Michael White and Manuel. During the search, inside a freezer officers located between 20 and 30 ecstasy pills. All three subjects were taken into custody and a female dispatcher at the Jackson Police Department was contacted to conduct a body search of the women. A large amount of powder and crack cocaine was located on Millicent White. She faces charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and possession of a controlled substance. Manuel faces possession charges and Michael White was charged with possession of a controlled substance and trafficking. In a matter that may be related, Gary Witherspoon, 43, of Calvert was arrested by McIntosh Police Officer Brad Singleton following a traffic stop, Jan. 25. Witherspoon, who is a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of a firearm, which may be one of the guns stolen from the pawn shop. The suspect agreed to a search of his residence where four more guns were confiscated. The four additional guns are not believed to be stolen, but Witherspoon may face charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Because of the stolen gun found in his possession he was booked into the Washington County Jail on a charge of first degree receiving stolen property.
The investigation concerning the stolen guns remains under investigation by the U.S. Department of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).
