Jackson man injured in wreck
A one-vehicle crash that occurred around 11:42 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, injured a Jackson man. According to Alabama State Troopers, Terrol Thames, 37, the driver of the 1999 Ford, was injured in the wreck, about three miles south of Bladon Springs on County Route 31 near the Choctaw-Washington county line. He was transported by Choctaw EMS Ambulance to the former Southern Choctaw High School site in Silas where he was airlifted by LifeFlight helicopter to a Mobile hospital. His condition was not known at press time. Members of the Gilbertown and Silas Volunteer Fire departments, Gilbertown Jaws of Life, Choctaw County Sheriff's Department, Choctaw EMS Ambulance personnel and Choctaw E-911 dispatchers assisted at the scene of the wreck and provided backup at the helicopter landing zone.
