Jackson started off the game on fire jumping out to a 20-10 lead after the first quarter. "We have been wanting a better offensive punch to start the game off," Aggie coach Marcus Caster said. "The offense is looking excellent." JHS never looked backed as the Aggies held a 36-25 lead at intermission and led throughout the rest of the game. Corey Besteda had his best game of the year with 22 points and 15 rebounds to pace the Aggie offense. Josh Ezell added 21 points and B.J. Brown had 13 to round out the top scorers for Jackson Daril Jackson led the Tigers with a 31-point outing while Tysean Thompson chipped in with 16 for Tigers. "We went in knowing what was at stake. It is our third time in four years to host the area tournament but we are not content with just winning the area. We want to win the region and make it to state," Caster said.
Jackson (16-6, 4-2) will now host the area tournament starting Feb. 8. The Aggies face-off with the Tigers again Friday, Jan. 25 in the Clarke County Tournament.
