WashCo Cattlemen to meet this Friday, Jan. 25, in Chatom The Washington County Cattlemen's Association will conduct its annual meeting this Friday, Jan. 25, at the Chatom Community Center at 7 p.m. Officers for 2008 will be elected. Dr. Billy Powell, a Washington County native, will be the featured speaker. He currently serves as the executive vice president of the Alabama Cattlemen's Association. The event will feature a steak dinner with all the trimmings, door prizes and a dessert table. Ladies attending are asked to bring their favorite dessert. Everything else will be provided. Association members who haven't paid their dues may do so at the door. Members of the Cattlewomen may pay their dues at the door as well. Wives who do not belong to the Washington County Cattlewomen are encouraged to join. All current and prospective members are welcome to attend the event. "We want to see a good representation of the cattlemen and cattlewomen in Washington County for this year's meeting," said longtime member and current secretary Tommy Fuller. "I encourage everyone to come out and participate in this year's banquet and the election of our officers."
