California parolee charged in camp house burglaries
Thomas William Peters III, 27, who is currently listed as a resident of Deer Park, was charged, Jan. 17, with three counts of third degree burglary following a traffic stop at Shilo Road and County Road 8 by Deputy John Traylor. During the stop, information developed that led the deputy to believe Peters was responsible for several burglaries in the Tibbie and Deer Park areas. Further investigation led to the recovery of six guns and other items including a crossbow, chainsaw, power drill, video tapes, DVDs, charger and a power saw. Some of the guns were recovered from pawn shops in Saraland. Peters is also believed to be responsible for several burglaries in Greene County, Miss. The Washington County Sheriff's Department is working in conjunction with the Mobile Sheriff's Office and officials from Greene County, Miss. as the investigation continues. At least five more guns are expected to be recovered, some from an additional burglary in Deer Park. "We are working with these other agencies in hopes of solving these other burglaries from outside the county," said Chief Deputy Terry Beasley. He went on to compliment Deputy Traylor on his investigation. Deputy Johnny Curry assisted Traylor.
As of Tuesday, no bond had been set for Peters who was reportedly recently paroled from the California state penal system.
