Love is in the air at the Jackson Nutrition Center
Louise Anderson and Eldrid Ward found that out when they met in May of last year at the Jackson Nutrition Center. "I walked in the center for the first time, saw her, and the Lord told me to go and get her. So, that's what I did," said Eldrid. The couple had their first "date" when they attended the Memorial Day service on the grounds of Jackson City Hall. "After that we realized we wanted to see more of each other," said Louise. Eldrid said because they hit it off so well, he decided to ask Louise to go steady. The romance continued to blossom and he asked her to marry him in August. But, Louise didn't give her answer right away. In fact, she waited several months, finally agreeing to tie the knot in early December. The nuptials were performed at the Jackson Nutrition Center on Dec. 18, by the Rev. Al Dykeman (retired). "He (Eldrid) picked her out from the beginning," he said. "I think a lot of other people can learn from them."
According to the couple, that's what attracted them to each other, the fact that they have a lot of common interests. One of those interests remains attending the functions at the Jackson Nutrition Center. "It's a great place to come and socialize," said Eldrid. "The people here are wonderful. One day last May, I decided to get up and come down to see what it was all about. I'm glad I did. I encourage others to do the same because you never know what you will find. You might find love like we did."
A reception for the couple was conducted at the center Friday, Jan. 18. According to the nutrition center's former director Nellie Edge, the Wards are the third couple to meet there and end up married.
