Thanks to those who aided in search for missing children Recently it was brought to our attention that some members of the Jackson Rescue Squad and other local citizens assisted in the search and recovery efforts for the four young children who were allegedly thrown from the Dauphin Island Bridge a couple of weeks ago. We were asked to convey a "thank you" on behalf of all those who participated in the search, as well as friends and family members of the children, for the prayers and support shown during this tragic event. The South Alabamian staff wishes to convey its deepest sympathy for the family of those four small children and salutes all those who aided in the search and recovery effort. This tragic event has brought the entire region together as a whole, which attests to the character of the citizens of this area. When tragedy strikes, the people of the southeast region of this country come together as a unit and offer much needed support for their fellowman. With all of the negative news reported on a daily basis, it is comforting to know that our neighbors are there when we need them. There can be no greater comfort than knowing your community will stand behind you in your time of need.
Again, we commend all those who volunteered their time to aid in this effort.
