Fifth annual MLK motorcade, memorial service organizing

The Free Mission District Association youth and children divisions will present their annual Martin Luther King Day program, Monday, Jan. 21, following a motorcade honoring Dr. King. "We Can't Afford To Forget," is the theme of this year's presentation and the Rev. Thaddeus Douglas, associate minister at Mt. Olive No. 2, will speak.

Lineup for the motorcade will begin at 9 a.m. at Gillmore Elementary School with the procession at 10 sharp. All vehicles are welcome. The identity of the church, group, business or individual should be indicated on the vehicle along with any appropriate decorations honoring Dr. King's birthday. For safety reasons, licensed drivers must operate all vehicles.

Additional information is available by contacting Harriette Andrews-Douglas at 246-5520, 513-4488 or e-mail pastorswifehad@ yahoo.com.
